Ten tips to help keep your back healthy
Following Meakim & Stern's simple and easy tips can help you keep your back healthy.
Have your spine checked regularly. It is much easier to prevent problems than to correct one!
Eat your fruits and vegetables. Your body needs nutrients to heal itself.
Don't cradle your phone between your shoulder and neck. Use a headset if you don't want to hold it!
Exercise regularly! It helps to strengthen your heart and all your other muscles. Pick an activity that you enjoy so that you will do it.
Try not to carry heavy, unbalanced loads. For instance, if you wear a backpack, wear straps on both shoulders.
Buy a good mattress, bed pillow, and chair for work. You spend a lot of time in these areas and you are worth it.
Don't sleep on your stomach. If you stood all day long with your head rotated to one side, that wouldn't be good for you, either!
Stretch before and after exercise.
Stretch while you are working if you sit for long periods of time.
Take Omega-3 fatty acids. Good fats are extremely good for the proper function of your body, and they help decrease inflammation.
